WHEN THE CHIPS
ARE DOWN
2015 | DATA EXPLORATION SCREEN-BASEDWhen the Chips are Down is, in Jonathan Fletcher's Moore words, a hillarious yet disturbing data exploration using the Seattle Public Library data around two events: the Boston marathon bombings (2013), and the capture of Osama Bin Laden (2011).
I took the title of this piece from a Hannah Arendt speech. A short fragment of her biopic (directed by Margarethe von Trotta) appears at the beginning of the video.
